What is Hypnotherapy?
It surprises most people to realise that the state of hypnosis is a natural state. Like daydreaming, driving trance and just before you go to sleep. It’s where the conscious mind switches off its busy chatter of thoughts. It’s a very relaxing and healing state to be in as thoughts use a lot of energy.
How does it work?
We operate daily on a conscious level we can only deal with 7-9 things at one time at this level. Change can not take place at a conscious level as your brain was not designed to change behaviour on this level. That’s where Hypnosis can help. We will discuss what you want to achieve in the session. I will then agree with you what changes you want to make. You will be guided to slowly allow your conscious mind to switch off. Allowing your breathing to slow down you will feel relaxed and be able to engage with your subconscious mind. When you are relaxed I will then suggest the new behaviour to your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind works to keep you safe and will only accept positive behaviour.
No one can hypnotise anyone if they don’t want to be. You are in control of the process. At any time you can open your eyes and be back to full awareness. You can relax to a light level of trance, medium or deep whatever feels comfortable to you. In fact some people don't think they have been hypnotised at all. The proof is when the negative habit stops after the session. Hypnosis is safe and relaxing and very empowering. The first session is 2 hours as I need to take a history of the presenting problem. I will always start treatment in the first session as each session of Hypnotherapy you will relax faster than before.
Subsequent sessions will be one hour. It depends on how severe the problem is but there will always be change after one session. Smoking usually takes just one session.
Costs
Sessions are charged at £65.00 per 2 hour consulation and therapy session. My clients have experiences life changing permanent changes through Hypnosis and NLP. I use a combination of these therapies to bring effective lasting change.
